A Proactive Approach to Conservation (9-minute Video)

Eugene Troskie has been pulling snares out of the bush around the Kruger National Park for years. This patrol with the Phalaborwa Natural Heritage Foundation (PNHF) shows what that work looks like.

The footage follows Troskie and his team across difficult terrain on the Kruger boundary, locating and removing illegal snares before they kill something. Some are heavy-duty wire rigs targeting the big game, while others are smaller, aimed at general game.

All of them are designed to be invisible until it's too late. Troskie walks through how each type is constructed and set and shows how poachers use the landscape itself as camouflage.

The PNHF operates with no fanfare and limited resources. What they have is consistency. Patrol after patrol, snare after snare. This video documents why that matters.
