Small-holding Snare Wars (6-minute Video)

The guys from the Phalaborwa Natural Heritage Foundation are on a mission to mitigate the scourge of snaring that has affected wildlife areas bordering the Kruger National Park.

No refuge is too big or too small. From 40,000-hectare big-five reserves to small 21-hectare properties, they are willing to spend their time and effort conducting snare sweeps.

The poachers will use anything they can get their hands on to make snares. Often, wire and cable stolen from the electric fencing surrounding the properties are used.

Although the battle always seems uphill, these wildlife warriors keep fighting.
